Fresh Club Night

A club night run by DJ's with learning disabilities and autistic DJ's since 1998.

Celebrating Your Favourite Musicians

This month at FRESH, we’re turning up the volume on our love for music! Whether you love pop, rock, rap, indie, or anything in between, we want to see who inspires you. Let’s celebrate our different music tastes and have a night filled with great tunes, dancing, and plenty of fun! Who will you be? Bowie? Beyoncé? Billie Eilish? Join us for a night to remember!

FRESH x The Lawnmowers: A Night at the Movies!

Lights, camera, action! This month, we’re teaming up with The Lawnmowers for to celebrate great movie soundtracks. From blockbuster soundtracks to iconic theme tunes, we’ll be playing the hits that made movie moments unforgettable.

Fresh Club Night takes place on the 1st Thursday of each month

Cost:  £6.00 per person (carers get in free)

Dregs Opera

A new play by Sunderland Platform Theatre Group


A musical based on the true story of historic local queer figure, Alonzo Johnson, who was convicted and deported to Tasmania because of his sexuality. Presented as an adaptation of Gay’s Beggar’s Opera and Brecht’s Threepenny Opera, Dregs Opera is a new, original work written and performed by artists with learning disabilities and autistic artists, featuring live music from members of the all female jazz group Wild Women of Wylam.

Sunderland Platform theatre group is funded by The Grocers' Charity, Hadrian Trust, Joicey Trust and Washington Heritage Partnership, and supported by Sunderland Culture.

Performing Arts workshop:

Independence, choice and control 


A creative workshop for groups of people with learning disabilities and autistic people aged 16+.


Work with performers and facilitators from The Twisting Ducks Theatre Company to explore themes of independence, choice and control through performing arts activities.


Participants will watch scenes from The Twisting Ducks performance Back by 8 and using creative techniques and forum theatre the group will explore how the characters deal with issues around getting the right support to do the things they want to do.


2-hour workshop for Schools, Sixth Form Colleges, and groups of people with learning disabilities and autistic people aged 16+


Free, booking required

The workshop will be delivered in your setting.
